In loving memory of Koen

Rotterdam, 30 July 2024 – It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved colleague and friend Koen van der Grond, who unexpectedly left us last Friday.

His contributions to DUPI have been immeasurable, from his instrumental role in streamlining our operational activities to leading the acquisition of new business opportunities.

Starting at DMI, DUPI’s predecessor, from 2013 to 2015, Koen returned to DUPI in 2020 where he brought invaluable experience and talent for project management. Koen’s warm personality and genuine kindness were as remarkable as his professional skills. He approached every challenge with a smile and often reminded us that “it’s just work”, fostering a positive and balanced work environment.

Koen’s love of art and music added a vibrant dimension to his life, one he often shared with his colleagues. His passion extended beyond office hours, as he enjoyed gatherings with both current and former colleagues.

Koen will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of working with him. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to Koen’s family and friends during this difficult time.
