Erwin Henkes joins DUPI as Commercial Director Property & Casualty
DUPI Underwriting Agencies is pleased to announce the arrival of Erwin Henkes as Commercial Director Property & Casualty. Erwin brings with him over 28 years of knowledge and experience in the insurance industry.
DUPI, a leader in Marine and CAR/Engineering insurance, has expanded in recent years to include Casualty and Property insurance. These are exactly the fields Erwin Henkes has been involved in for almost three decades.
Erwin previously worked at broker Aon for over 18 years. The last six years, he served as the Managing Director Liability, FSG & Cyber. Before that, he held various management positions in the Property and Liability divisions. Before his career at Aon, he was Managing Director of Henkes Insurance Group for 10 years. Erwin (before his career in the insurance sector) successfully completed studies in business administration at the University of Groningen.
Top line growth vs bottom line result
In its governance model, DUPI distinguishes between responsibility for growth and development on the one hand, and responsibility for technical results on the other. The Commercial Directors are primarily responsible for the former, reporting to the CCO (Anton Cornel), the Underwriting Directors primarily for the latter, reporting to the CUO (Emiel Paaij).
In this way, we consciously create checks and balances, substantive discussion and exchange of arguments, and thus a better outcome for all our stakeholders.
Top line growth vs bottom line result
In his new role as Commercial Director Property & Casualty, Erwin focuses on relationship management. In addition, his focus is on expanding the existing portfolios – together with our brokers and clients – and developing new portfolios. He will be part of DUPI’s commercial team, which consists of CCO Anton Cornel and colleagues Paul de Keijzer (Commercial Director CAR/Engineering), Jaap Gispen (Commercial Director Marine), Ad Boekraad (Director Business Development) and Niels Teeuw (Senior Account Executive).
Naturally, Erwin will work closely with Bernadette Bode (Underwriting Director Casualty) and Paul de Koning (Underwriting Director Property) and the relevant teams.
