DUPI strengthens leadership and expertise in its CAR Engineering team
Rotterdam, 15 january 2026 – DUPI Underwriting Agencies continues to build a strong CAR/Engineering team. With strengthened leadership, fresh energy and the development of internal talent, we are taking the next step forward.
As of 1 January 2026, Chris van Gorkum has taken on the role of Lead Underwriter CAR/Engineering. In this position, he leads the team together with Niek Vonk (Associate Director CAR/Engineering). Chris joined DUPI in 2020 as a Claims Handler for CAR/Engineering, Casualty and Property. A few years later, he moved into Underwriting CAR/Engineering, where he has since grown into a key member of the team.
With this background – from claims to underwriting – Chris brings a broad perspective on risk, clients and the market; a step we are proud of as an organisation. By working closely with Niek and building on his extensive expertise and years of experience, Chris will continue to grow in his role as team manager in the period ahead.
The CAR/Engineering team continues to strengthen: Kristel Goethals joined as Underwriter on 1 January 2026, and Maarten Visser will also join the team as Underwriter from 1 March. Both bring relevant experience from the insurance and technical sectors, further reinforcing the team’s professional foundation.
Berend Jongbloed (part of DUPI since 2023) and Tim van Ewijk (since 2025) are also taking a great next step within our organisation: Berend as Underwriter and Tim as Junior Underwriter. We are proud of their perseverance and of the impact they make for our clients every day.
