New employees October update

In August Emiel van der Flier (32) joined DUPI Underwriting Agencies as Senior Financial Assistant.

Having worked in finance and support roles at Aon and in various accounting roles before that, Emiel is an experienced finance professional. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics from Avans Hogeschool.

Emiel reports to Marleen Mac-Donald, Director Finance and Operations.

 Peter van der Sluijs (57) joined DUPI Underwriting Agencies as Underwriter Casualty in September.

Peter joins us from Zurich Insurance where he worked since 2000. His latest position at Zurich was Senior Underwriter Liability. Peter brings over 25 years of experience in underwriting, insurance and law. Peter holds a Master’s Degree in Law (Insurance and Business) from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Peter reports to Ad Boekraad, Underwriting Director Property & Casualty.

Per 1 October Daniel Diesel (27) joined DUPI Underwriting Agencies as Junior Account Manager.

Daniel joins DUPI from insurance broker Gebr. Sluyter where since 2010 he was Administrative Assistant. Daniel attended the STC Group, Rotterdam school for Port Logistics.

Daniel reports to Steven Verhaar, Manager Distribution & Marketing.

Per 1 November Tristan van Herwaarden (39) returns to DUPI Underwriting Agencies as Client Executive P&I.

Having worked as Underwriter EUROP&I for DUPI from 2015 to January 2019, Tristan brings back to DUPI his experience in the European inland shipping industry and P&I. Most recently, Tristan worked as a Contract Manager for Rijkswaterstaat, (Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water) and was responsible, among other things, for contract management towards ship owners and contractors. Tristan holds a Master’s Degree in Shipping Law from the University of Cape Town.

Tristan reports to Bert Scheper, Underwriting Director Charterers’ Liability/P&I.
