STIJN BAKKEREN, managing director
Stijn Bakkeren was appointed Managing Director of DUPI Group on 1 March 2020. He joined DUPI in 2016 as Chief Financial Officer and shareholder of the company.
Having worked as a director and owner/shareholder of several accounting firms and tax consultancies, Stijn brings 20 years of knowledge and experience in the field of accountancy, financial and corporate tax advisory and tax risk inventories.
Stijn holds a Master’s Degree in Fiscal Economics from Tilburg University.
ANTON CORNEL, Executive director
Anton Cornel is Executive Director and shareholder of DUPI Group and Managing Director of DUPI Underwriting Agencies. He joined DUPI in 2014.
From 2006 until 2014 Anton was Managing Director of Marsh Inc. and a member of the Executive Committee of Marsh in Rotterdam, where he was responsible for Account Management and Sales. Anton’s previous assignments include responsibility for the Marine Business Line in the Netherlands of Fortis Corporate Insurance (now MS Amlin), including the Raets P&I portfolio (1996-2006).
Anton holds a Master‘s Degree from Tilburg University (MA, Sociology) and the Diploma of the Chartered Insurance Institute in London (Dip CII).
MICHIEL VERVLIET, Claims, Legal & HR
Michiel Vervliet is responsible for Carrier Management, Claims & Legal and joined DUPI Group in 2019.
Having worked at Delta Lloyd, Fortis Corporate Insurance (MS Amlin) and Baloise Insurance, Michiel brings over 30 years of insurance industry experience in various professional and senior management positions. Most recently, as Director Marine & Transport, Michiel was responsible for the Business Unit Marine and a member of of the Management Team of Baloise Belgium.
Michiel holds a Master’s Degree in Law from Amsterdam University.
MARLEEN MAC-DONALD, finance & operations
Marleen Mac-Donald joined DUPI Group in February 2020 as Director Finance and IT. She is now responsible for Finance and Operations.
Marleen brings well over 20 years of knowledge and experience in controlling, accounting, project and process management and IT.
She joined DUPI from Victor Insurance Rotterdam where she was Operations and Control Manager since 2011. From 2007-2011 she was Fiduciary Accounting Controller at Marsh in Rotterdam.
Marleen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Management Science from the Open University.
PAUL PLOOIJ, Risk, Compliance & IT
Paul Plooij was appointed Director Risk, Compliance & IT and chairman of the DUPI Group Risk Committee on 1 August 2020. He joined DUPI in 2017 as Underwriting Director Casualty.
Having worked at AC Fraser & Co / Erasmus Verzekeringen and AIG, Paul brings over 30 years of insurance industry experience.
Most recently, Paul worked as Underwriting Director Casualty at DUPI Underwriting Agencies. In this capacity, he was responsible for the business unit casualty. Paul served the company as Director Risk & Ops a.i. from January to July 2019. Being Underwriting Director Casualty, Paul was a part of DUA’s Management Team since 2017.
HANS GROOT, Carrier Management
Hans Groot joined DUPI in February 2021 as Director Carrier Management.
Hans has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance business. He worked in various professional and management positions at, among others, Aon, Cunningham Lindsey Europe, and Delta Lloyd Group.
Hans holds a Master’s Degree in Law from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam.
ROSALIE ALKEMA-BOERS, company secretary
Rosalie Alkema-Boers is the Company Secretary and member of DUPI’s Management Team. Rosalie joined DUPI in 2011 as a Maritime Lawyer. In 2019, she was appointed as the Legal Counsel of DUPI Group.
Rosalie started her career as an attorney at law mainly working for clients in the maritime and transport industry. As an all-round legal counsel, she brings 15 years of experience and knowledge in the field of maritime, insurance and contract law.
Rosalie holds a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Utrecht. She also completed the Grotius postgraduate specialization training in contract law in 2019.
