DUPI intends to acquire Business from Canopius BV Amsterdam
On 21 August 2020 DUPI Underwriting Agencies BV (DUPI) and Canopius Holdings UK Limited have signed an agreement whereby DUPI intends to acquire from Canopius BV Amsterdam (Canopius) all underwriting and claims activities undertaken by Canopius on behalf of various risk carriers with the exception of Renewable Energy Business written on behalf of subsidiaries of Canopius Group.
DUPI will take over fifteen employees from Canopius, which are all employees excluding those that work in the Renewable Energy Business.
DUPI will also take over the lease agreement of the Canopius offices in Amsterdam, La Guardiaweg 36 (Bright Offices) and in due course will close its office in Amsterdam, Herengracht 257.
Canopius’ Managing Director Jimmy Guman will continue as the Managing Director of DUPI Underwriting Agencies Amsterdam
The closing of the Agreement is intended ultimately to take place on or before 30 October 2020 and is subject that all necessary regulatory requirements, including competition authorities and financial regulators (if any), have been met and the final approval of the Transaction by the Supervisory Board of DUPI Group BV (being the sole shareholder of DUPI) and final approval of the Transaction by the Board of Directors of Canopius Group (being the indirect sole shareholder of Canopius).
